SPECIAL OFFERING:
EASTMONT COMMUNITY CENTER, PROJECT IMPACT, AND ALL PEOPLES COMMUNITY CENTER
Every year we honor different ministries at our Regional Assemblies and Gatherings by collecting an offering for their benefit. This year, we will be honoring three of our regional units: Eastmont Community Center, Project Impact, and All Peoples Community Center.
Since 1968, the Eastmont Community Center has been a cornerstone of East Los Angeles. They tackle challenges faced by families through social services, education, and personal development programs. They empower potential and believe in creating opportunities. They provide social services, educational programs, and resources that equip residents with the tools they need to thrive. They have created a legacy of transformation. Today, Eastmont offers a diverse range of adult education classes, including computer literacy, ESL/Citizenship classes, nutrition classes, and more. Over 1,500 families rely on Eastmont each year. It is more than just a center; it is a lifeline, providing essential services and fostering a vibrant community spirit in East Los Angeles.
The mission of Project Impact is to strengthen youth, children and families through programs of self and community empowerment. Their vision is to implement a nationally recognized, best-practices model of reconciliation that reduces youth violence in the most “at-risk” communities across the United States. They envision a future where churches of all faith backgrounds work intentionally to build capacity among their members to meet the challenges of today’s youth. This is where community organizations work hand in hand with members of churches to offer hope, opportunity, and support for the dreams of needy children, youth, and families. Their work results in new knowledge and tools for community betterment and people development. Children find hope in the future, and life is filled with new possibilities.
All Peoples Community Center provides social services and programs that empower individuals and promote community respect and self-determination for all. Their vision is to become a state-of-the-art community resource and empowerment center, representative of the community’s greatest dreams and aspirations. All Peoples is a comprehensive community center, delivering many social and educational services and activities for: eliminating generational poverty, food security, youth/adult employment services, community building, financial empowerment, youth development, and senior volunteer opportunities.
All three of these units work in collaboration with the Pacific Southwest Region of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Your donation to the special offering will support all three organizations. Thank you PSWR for your partnership and your generosity!
